A Fire Warden’s Tale: Celebrating Rodney P. Bailey’s Legacy
Saturday, September 14, 6:30 pm
Rodney P. Bailey was the Fire Warden on top of Big Moose Mountain in 1960. He lived in a modest cabin a short walk from the summit, where he spent each day in a fire tower, relaying radio messages and watching for forest fires for 6 months in relative solitude. During a recent visit to the area with his children, Rodney saw a replica of his tower at Greenville’s Visitor’s Center, and an incredible story developed that you won’t want to miss!
